Love and Dogs

I did two couples shoots recently, both involving dogs!
Autumn & Josh: Greenfield Park

Stephanie & Ricky: Carolina Beach

Of course I had to get some doggy glamour shots, too:

Theissen Wedding

My friend Sara got married a couple of weeks ago in The Outer Banks and I had such a great time! It was a gorgeous wedding, and she couldn't have picked a better day to get married. The weather was just perfect! Here are a few of my favorite shots from the evening:

I also made some cupcakes for the wedding, but didn't get a picture in time! They were halfway gone by the time I got over there!

Her dad and his friends performed a barbershop quartet for the bride. It was so sweet!

Pop Pop's 90th birthday

My grandpa turned 90 a few weeks back, and we threw a big party for him! He requested a chocolate on chocolate cake (there is no doubt I get my chocoholic genes from him) which I gladly whipped up. He wanted it so badly and was getting pretty impatient while he was waiting for us to cut it!

In fact, he was just about ready to cut it himself.

2 Recent Cakes

I am so excited to be baking again! I've been playing with fondant a bit more recently and I think my skill level is improving a little bit. I'm hoping to take the Wilton fondant and gum paste course soon! Last weekend I baked a Nightmare Before Christmas cake for my friend Cait, and also made some Jack Skellington cupcakes with the extra batter :)

And this is the Minnie Mouse cake I just made today for a little girl's 3rd birthday. I hope she enjoyed it!

Lilly's birthday cake!

So over the weekend I went to Chuck E. Cheese for the first time in about 15 years. I had much more fun that I was expecting to have! Lol! Here are some pictures of the frog cake I made for the birthday girl:

This is just for my own amusement.

I am almost considering starting a new blog called "Awesome Parking Jobs of the Beau Rivage Harris Teeter". Or perhaps just "Awesome Wilmington Parking", because people here not only can't drive (this is coming from someone who grew up in DC), but we are home to the most ridiculously planned parking lots I have ever seen. Anyways, my favorite spot is the Harris Teeter by my apartment. I'm not sure if it's the billions of pickup trucks we have in the area, mass amounts of confused tourists, or the "don't give a shit" attitude of the yuppies living on the golf course nearby. Nonetheless, I am always amused on the few occasions I make it out to the ol' Hairy Teets. Here are 3 of my favorite examples from my quick trip today:

Almost made it!

Oooh, so close!

Sorry, dude. No words of encouragement for you.

Luckily the place wasn't too busy today, but it's even worse when the store is crowded. Don't get me wrong, I'm in nooo way the greatest driver (or parker) out there. My spatial relations are actually quite terrible, but I at least correct myself. :P
